According to the latest data from the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in 2024, 26% of the total volume of transported oil was delivered to domestic refineries. The total volume of oil transportation amounted to 57.8 million tons.
This indicator demonstrates Kazakhstan's strategy to increase the share of oil processing within the country. Increasing supplies to domestic refineries helps meet internal demand for petroleum products and reduces dependence on imports.
Experts note that the modernization of Kazakhstan's refineries carried out in recent years has increased their processing capacity and improved product quality. This creates conditions for further increasing the share of oil processed domestically and developing the country's petrochemical industry.
